As soon as you place your order, you will receive an order confirmation e-mail. This means that we have received your order in our system and pre-authorized your credit card for the purchase. As soon as we receive your order, we automatically reach out to our suppliers to confirm that it is in stock and available for immediate shipment. If your item is on backorder or unavailable, we will void the pre-authorization and reach out to you via e-mail. If your item(s) are available for immediate shipment (within 5 business days), we will process the charges and submit the order for shipment.
If your order is in stock and we process the charges to your credit card, it will ship within five business days from the date of your order. We will send you tracking information within 24 hours of your order leaving the warehouse to the e-mail address you provided when checking out. If you do not receive tracking information from us within six business days of your order, feel free to follow up with us at info@KayakCreek.com.
We can also do next day, 2 day, or 3 day shipping for most items (excluding those shipping freight). This is at the customer's expense. If you would like one of these services, please call or email us before placing your order.
All solid and modular kayaks ship via LTL freight. The shipping company will call you, usually the day before or the day of the expected delivery date, to schedule a delivery time. This is "curb-side delivery", so someone must be home and available to sign for the package and take it from the back of the truck. Please see our Returns page HERE for details/info about signing for your package and damages. If the shipping company is unable to get ahold of you and the package is returned to us, you will be liable for shipping charges (both to you and back to us), and any restocking/misc. fees involved.
The freight companies we use are usually very good with accommodating for our customers on a delivery day and time. Please note that while the shippers are usually fine with holding the package for a day or two for a delivery appointment, if it goes any longer than that, storage fees may start to accumulate. In any case, if storage fees are accumulated, they will be the responsibility of the customer (you) to pay.
"Built to Order" Orders
There are certain brands of boats that we sell that we do not stock in-house, simply because they offer a ton of different color combinations, packages, etc.. These brands' boats will be shipped directly to you from the manufacturer. In some cases, the manufacturer will have the color you ordered in their inventory and almost ready to ship out. In the event that they do not have the color/package/etc that you ordered in their inventory, they will manufacture it on the spot for you!
If the item is in their inventory, it will typically ship out within 1-2 weeks. This is because the item will need to be packaged and an appointment will need to be made for a freight carrier to come pick it up.
If the item is not in their inventory and needs to be manufactured, it will typically ship out within 2-4 weeks (usually closer to the 3 week mark).
Please keep in mind that these are estimated shipping times are not guaranteed, and may vary depending on the time of year ordered. After you place your order, we will email you with an "expected completion date" of when the item is expected to be done with the manufacturing process, packaged, and ready to ship (this is not a "delivered to you" date).
Once shipped, transit time is typically anywhere from 2-5 business days, depending on your distance from the manufacturer.
In the vast majority of orders, we are able to beat these timelines! We just want to make sure that we are very transparent with the process and the time involved.
