The idea behind Point 65 came from the magical place of Point 65° North. It is the island, Rönnskär, near the Northern City of Skellefteå, Sweden and the home of the Pite-Rönnskär lighthouse. It was built in 1905, and is surrounded by hundreds of islands – ideal for exploring the outdoors. The islands’ beauty combined with the engineering and ingenuity of the lighthouse were the essence of what the Point 65 brand wanted to achieve.
Founded in 1996, Point 65 is now the leading outdoor brand in Europe, and one of the fastest growing outdoor brands in the world. Point 65’s products are sold all over the world, with innovation as their hallmark.
Point 65 has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognition from multiple renowned kayaking magazines and authorities.
Philosophy
Dedicated to quality, form, and function, Point 65 is innovative, their products are functional, and their design is Scandinavian. Their mission is to inspire people to use the outdoors, through innovative, unique, and outstanding products.
Point 65 is the company behind the ingenious, practical, modular take-apart kayaks, and the Rum Runner modular stand up paddleboard (SUP). These modular water crafts easily snap together to form one solid boat, and snap apart for easy transportation and storage.
On top of their modular kayaks and the Rum Runner modular standup paddleboard, Point 65 also offers a wide range of state-of-the-art bags and hard shell backpacks - which double as the highest rated spine protectors in the world while protecting and keeping your gear dry. These packs were previously known as “Boblbee”.
The Point 65 Team
Point 65 has some amazing members on their team. These members include the ultimate test paddler, Freya Hoffmeister, one of the leading designers in Scandinavia, Magnus De Brito, and the living paddling legend, Nigel Foster.
Magnus De Brito brought advanced marine technology with him to Point 65. He designed the award-winning modular kayaks Apollo, Tequila!, Martini, and Mercury, and also the Rum Runner modular standup paddleboard. He also designs state-of-the-art touring kayaks, such as the XP18, XP18 Spyder, and the Freya Expedition. The Freya Expedition was named after Freya Hoffmeister, and she also helped Magnus design it.
Nigel Foster – referred to by many as a living paddling legend – strengthened the Point 65 team in 2004, by bringing his legacy and the history of modern paddling with him. Not only is Nigel Foster an international kayak teacher and icon of modern sea kayaking, he has also designed 6 sea kayaks, and his international reputation is built on his designs. Nigel is the designer behind Point 65’s Whisky 16, Double Shot, and Nigel Foster Paddles.

So very happy....5 stars!! Any help we needed they were there for us!! When we are ready to buy the next NuCanoe it will be from Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bohlin they are such wonderful people and very helpful and always making sure we are 100 % ready to get in the water with our new NuCanoe!!
This amazing Kayak fits easily inside a Honda Fit!
So much fun! Even comes with usable paddles.
It tracks OK, but does fill with water, so buy a pump or you will get wet.
It is so easy to put together, and take apart, only taking seconds.
My first kayak, and I think my first palindrome. Straps strip easy as had to replace one on first use, but I think with care straps will last. Easy to store; glad I went with a modular, especially with ability to use tandem or solo. But I still thin it is a shame that the word for a word that is the same spelled backwards as forward is not itself a palindrome. Matt at Kayakcreek was great.
This order was placed months ago. Not Kayak Creeks fault. Just the economy and lack of workers and materials. Kayak Creek has been awesome with communication about my order. Being it's late Autumn I'll wait till springtime to install the palm drive.
We took our Kayak out on its maiden voyage last weekend. The assembly/disassembly was super easy and quick even being my first time!!! It moved through the water great and tracking was excellent! Only issue was with me being 6' tall it was a tight fit. Great service from Matt on keeping me updated on delivery issues. Would recommend this Kayak to others!! Oh, I already did!!
Purchased the kayak earlier this year (February 2021) and waited about 2-3 months to receive the product from the manufacturer. These delays were communicated prior to the purchase by Kayak Creek as well as once the order was submitted. Upon receiving my order, it was noticed that at some point during shipping someone punctured the hull of the boat with a forklift tine. This damage was no fault of Kayak Creek’s nor Nucanoe, and was solely on the shipping company. After communicating with both Matt at Kayak Creek and multiple team members at Nucanoe, the issue was rectified in my favor and all parties went above and beyond to make sure that I was taken care of. Even with the hole in the hull, which I had patched with plastic welding, gator guard patches, and flex seal tape and spray, I am able to get out on the water for hours at a time with no worries about capsizing. All of my hunting/fishing buddies are wanting to pick one up for themselves as well as it is just an absolute tank. Flat ope. water with a dog, or tight skinny water that is a bit sketchy for even smaller boats, this boat will handle it all. Surprisingly I was able to just skate right through some rapids and rock gardens with having to get out maybe a handful of times.
Even copperheads jump at the chance to hop in the boat and give it a spin.
All in all, I am in love with this boat and aside from the shipping damage which was solely due to the freight company. could not thank Kayak Creek (namely Matt) and Nucanoe for making this experience a pleasurable one,
Great Kayak. I can throw it in the back of my kia sportage without help.
With 2 people at high speed the front creates a wake and slows down, which is not important to me as its just for recreation. I'm 5.11, my mom and dad 6.0 and 6.2. It is a pretty tight fit. I don't think someone taller than 6.2 would fit at all, and 6.0 seems to be the max in the front when put together for 2 people.
Over all I'm very happy with it and happy that it allows me to independently load and unload.
I was super happy with communication and help from Kayak Creek despite the expected COVID shipping delays.
Onve in awhile, you get great servuce backed by good people, who see tmyour order through and who give it a personal touch. Matt was helpful and kind and the products and service are wonderful. I love my kayak! Thank you, Kayak Creek, for being honest and so helpful. The photo is of my boyfriend on Thermalito Afterbay in his NuCanoe.
Great company to deal with. Matt worked hard to work out the details of getting me a canoe to me while I was on the road.
He arranged for me to pick my Frontier 12 in Denver, then when the manufacturer couldn’t fulfill my paddle order, he found a paddle for me through a competitor and arranged for it to be delivered to my next destination.
Then...... when I decided to purchase a casting bar Matt again worked out the details of getting it to me while I was still traveling.
His service was definitely above and beyond what one normally gets from even companies that offer great service.
Thanks for all your hard work Matt! You helped make an incredible fishing summer!
