The Point 65 Mercury GTX Solo Touring Kayak is a high-performance, decked, modular touring kayak - following the success of Point 65’s modular recreational kayaks.

TWO Kayaks in One... Later down the road, if you decide you need a tandem kayak, no need to purchase an entire other kayak - just pick up a "mid section" and create your own tandem! In solo form, the Mercury GTX is a 14' high-performance expedition kayak. Add the middle section, and the Mercury GTX becomes an incredible 17’10” touring machine!   

The solo version of the Mercury GTX comes in 3 separate pieces and the tandem comes in 4. These pieces are the stern, the bow, and the cockpit(s).  They easily snap together and apart in seconds using Point 65’s revolutionary Snap-Tap technology, making this kayak able and easy to transport in the back of a car and store at home. The 39” nose section fits snugly into the large cockpit, making its broken-down size even more compact.

Storage for You & Your Stuff... The large size of the comfy padded cockpit makes for easy entry and exit and fits almost any size paddler. Its roto-molded polyethylene construction makes the Mercury GTX incredibly strong and impact resistant. The large dry hatches in front and aft give you plenty of bone-dry storage space. Add the optional fitted spray cover (Point Storm or Point Ocean size: XL) and enjoy a dry ride, even in the roughest conditions.

Not perfect, but really good

I've had my Mercury for 5 months now. I love being able to transport it inside my car and being able to move it by myself. It snaps together easily and (with the help of the hack in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpCZhdOTmAc) it's easy to take apart, too. I've taken it out in lakes and in an ocean bay on calm days and the skeg makes it track very well. My main complaint is that the skeg has gotten sticky and won't fully drop down by itself anymore. I've tried the fix Point 65 gives in a repair video, but it didn't fix the issue. So now I just manually give it a little tug before I launch and I'm good to go.

I was immediately informed, asked if I wanted the other pieces delayed (no), and told that receipt date was unpredictable. Gorgeous color

I received my Point65 Mojito kayak today. It arrived in good condition.

I was most surprised and PLEASED with the color. I ordered “yellow” vs. “red”, the two choices offered. My kayak is definitely NOT YELLOW. It is a paler creamy orange, with almost a hint of fluorescent to it. It LOOKS GREAT. To my eye, this color is much better than red or yellow. Had this been a color choice, I would have picked it. I point this out because someone with their heart set on a true yellow might be disappointed.

Thanks for a good purchase experience.

great option!

this was the perfect solution for my perception hook angler, not the greatest kayak in terms of having options for mounting gear tracks or fish finders but this made a very simple solution for just about all of my needs. had a slight machining defect in one of the lock n load slots but it's not a huge deal for me to not use that one.

After some questions about whether it was the correct size, I was told to use silicone spray to enable easy placement of the hatch cover. It works great! Such a quick turn around from order to delivery. And great communication with Kayak about my problems with getting the hatch cover on my boat.

Well made, works great!

I have had this kayak for almost 20 years. Bought before Innova owned the company! It has been durable & fun. With the tracking fin it does great on even large lakes, Table Rock & Rend Lakes. Light weight so I can pack it into smaller bodies of water, strip pits, ponds, & creeks. Great on Ozark streams & rivers. Comfortable & handles choppy waters well! Just don’t over inflate & keep out of the sun when not on the water!

Great company to deal with. Matt worked hard to work out the details of getting me a canoe to me while I was on the road.

He arranged for me to pick my Frontier 12 in Denver, then when the manufacturer couldn’t fulfill my paddle order, he found a paddle for me through a competitor and arranged for it to be delivered to my next destination.

Then...... when I decided to purchase a casting bar Matt again worked out the details of getting it to me while I was still traveling.

His service was definitely above and beyond what one normally gets from even companies that offer great service.
