About Boblbee/Point 65
Boblbee by Point 65
The idea behind Point 65 came from the magical place of Point 65° North. It is the island, Rönnskär, near the Northern City of Skellefteå, Sweden and the home of the Pite-Rönnskär lighthouse. It was built in 1905, and is surrounded by hundreds of islands – ideal for exploring the outdoors. The islands’ beauty combined with the engineering and ingenuity of the lighthouse were the essence of what the Point 65 brand wanted to achieve.
Founded in 1996, Point 65 is now the leading outdoor brand in Europe, and one of the fastest growing outdoor brands in the world. Point 65’s products are sold all over the world, with innovation as their hallmark.
Point 65 has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognition from multiple renowned kayaking magazines and authorities.
Dedicated to quality, form, and function, Point 65 is innovative, their products are functional, and their design is Scandinavian. Their mission is to inspire people to use the outdoors, through innovative, unique, and outstanding products.
Point 65 is the company behind the ingenious, practical, modular take-apart kayaks, and the Rum Runner modular stand up paddleboard (SUP). These modular water crafts easily snap together to form one solid boat, and snap apart for easy transportation and storage.
On top of their modular kayaks and the Rum Runner modular standup paddleboard, Point 65 also offers a wide range of state-of-the-art bags and hard shell backpacks - which double as the highest rated spine protectors in the world while protecting and keeping your gear dry. These packs were previously known as “Boblbee”.
The Point 65 Team
Point 65 has some amazing members on their team. These members include the ultimate test paddler, Freya Hoffmeister, one of the leading designers in Scandinavia, Magnus De Brito, and the living paddling legend, Nigel Foster.
Magnus De Brito brought advanced marine technology with him to Point 65. He designed the award-winning modular kayaks Apollo, Tequila!, Martini, and Mercury, and also the Rum Runner modular standup paddleboard. He also designs state-of-the-art touring kayaks, such as the XP18, XP18 Spyder, and the Freya Expedition. The Freya Expedition was named after Freya Hoffmeister, and she also helped Magnus design it.
Nigel Foster – referred to by many as a living paddling legend – strengthened the Point 65 team in 2004, by bringing his legacy and the history of modern paddling with him. Not only is Nigel Foster an international kayak teacher and icon of modern sea kayaking, he has also designed 6 sea kayaks, and his international reputation is built on his designs. Nigel is the designer behind Point 65’s Whisky 16, Double Shot, and Nigel Foster Paddles.

LOVE this boot. It’s absolutely PERFECT. The entire process from purchasing to delivery to using it has been amazing. It fits 2 adults and one child comfortably. We have used it 4 times and each adventure has been awesome!
Good communication, easy to work with, great product!
Matt at Kayak Creek was nice to work with. The hand written note was a special touch that I greatly appreciated. Even during the pandemic, Matt kept good communication as items were back-ordered. The NuCanoe Frontier 12 is a top of the line fishing and hunting kayak that I highly recommend and Kayak Creek is great to work with. Thanks!
Very easy to assemble (start with the back piece), fits easily in the car, very good floatability, stability and speed on both lake and ocean (4 feet waves).
In tandem mode it leaks a bit through the joints but it’s normal.
It floats even when full of water.
Carrying it inside the vehicle saves 12 mpg.
A very big Bravo to Kayak Creek, very professional
It's been extremely difficult to get as it's been out-of-stock for months! We were looking for a tandem kayak and settled on the Martini GTX. When I ordered from Kayak Creek, they informed that they were out of the middle sections and that it might be awhile, but we were able to work out getting the front and end sections in advance so at least I was able to make use of the kayak and get familiar with it while I waited on the middle section. The pandemic didn't help get the middle section any faster of course, but it did finally come a few weeks ago and it's been great being able too haul just one kayak instead of two. A lot faster when we're sharing the work as well instead of each fully operating one kayak. Putting the pieces together is no big deal at all. Once you watch the YT video and do it one or two times, you'll get the hang of it.
Matt at Kayak Creek was most helpful when ordering my modular Point 65 2 -person Martini modular kayak with paddles and life jackets. The 3 pieces fit into my Honda Odyssey minivan along with my iROcker paddle board! The pieces of the kayak easily click together and apart. Haven't yet used it as a double kayak but have been pleased with it's performance as a single kayak although the cargo hold covers are difficult to get back on.
Great company to deal with. Matt worked hard to work out the details of getting me a canoe to me while I was on the road.
He arranged for me to pick my Frontier 12 in Denver, then when the manufacturer couldn’t fulfill my paddle order, he found a paddle for me through a competitor and arranged for it to be delivered to my next destination.
Then...... when I decided to purchase a casting bar Matt again worked out the details of getting it to me while I was still traveling.
His service was definitely above and beyond what one normally gets from even companies that offer great service.
Thanks for all your hard work Matt! You helped make an incredible fishing summer!
Huge shout out to Matt! I was shopping around and looking to purchase my first kayak. I had very specific needs and a lot of questions as a newbie.
Making a big investment without seeing the product was a big leap for me but working Matt helped me through this process (before and even after the purchase!)
He was showed a lot of patience and followed up with my many questions, enough that I had enough information and confidence to pull the trigger.
I selected the point 65 kingfisher as storage and transportation was a key factor for me. this kayak breaks down to a manageable size that eventually I can put into my storage closet when not in use, making both me and my girlfriend happy!
The communication and support Matt and Kayak Creek provided exceeded my expectations.
I even referred my cousin who is also in the market for a kayak to Kayak Creek.
This is my initial review and I may post an update when I have new to offer but so far a great experience! Thanks Matt!
I truly appreciated the customer service Matt Morel provided. The kayak I wanted was back ordered by the company, and he kept me updated on the progress for months. He was kind, helpful and a pleasure to work with. Thank you Kayak Creek for your awesome employee.
