About Boblbee/Point 65
Boblbee by Point 65
The idea behind Point 65 came from the magical place of Point 65° North. It is the island, Rönnskär, near the Northern City of Skellefteå, Sweden and the home of the Pite-Rönnskär lighthouse. It was built in 1905, and is surrounded by hundreds of islands – ideal for exploring the outdoors. The islands’ beauty combined with the engineering and ingenuity of the lighthouse were the essence of what the Point 65 brand wanted to achieve.
Founded in 1996, Point 65 is now the leading outdoor brand in Europe, and one of the fastest growing outdoor brands in the world. Point 65’s products are sold all over the world, with innovation as their hallmark.
Point 65 has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognition from multiple renowned kayaking magazines and authorities.
Dedicated to quality, form, and function, Point 65 is innovative, their products are functional, and their design is Scandinavian. Their mission is to inspire people to use the outdoors, through innovative, unique, and outstanding products.
Point 65 is the company behind the ingenious, practical, modular take-apart kayaks, and the Rum Runner modular stand up paddleboard (SUP). These modular water crafts easily snap together to form one solid boat, and snap apart for easy transportation and storage.
On top of their modular kayaks and the Rum Runner modular standup paddleboard, Point 65 also offers a wide range of state-of-the-art bags and hard shell backpacks - which double as the highest rated spine protectors in the world while protecting and keeping your gear dry. These packs were previously known as “Boblbee”.
The Point 65 Team
Point 65 has some amazing members on their team. These members include the ultimate test paddler, Freya Hoffmeister, one of the leading designers in Scandinavia, Magnus De Brito, and the living paddling legend, Nigel Foster.
Magnus De Brito brought advanced marine technology with him to Point 65. He designed the award-winning modular kayaks Apollo, Tequila!, Martini, and Mercury, and also the Rum Runner modular standup paddleboard. He also designs state-of-the-art touring kayaks, such as the XP18, XP18 Spyder, and the Freya Expedition. The Freya Expedition was named after Freya Hoffmeister, and she also helped Magnus design it.
Nigel Foster – referred to by many as a living paddling legend – strengthened the Point 65 team in 2004, by bringing his legacy and the history of modern paddling with him. Not only is Nigel Foster an international kayak teacher and icon of modern sea kayaking, he has also designed 6 sea kayaks, and his international reputation is built on his designs. Nigel is the designer behind Point 65’s Whisky 16, Double Shot, and Nigel Foster Paddles.

Great quality from bow to stern. Couldn’t be happier. Going to use this for waterfowl hunting, getting to secluded areas for turkey and deer locations as well as fishing. This kayak fits all of those needs. Great customer service as well. They always responded quickly with all information I needed for all my purchases.
I worked with Matt from Kayak Creek to purchase two kayaks. The purchase was done via the telephone and email. Matt was extremely helpful and responded to all my inquires in a timely fashion. I am very pleased with my interaction with Kayak Creek and will purchase from them again in the future.
This is a fun fishing boat. Plenty of space for rods and gear. A very easy paddle. Don't expect it to keep up with the touring kayaks, this one's for a quiet fishing day. Then there's the ease with which it goes together. What a great design!
Who would have guessed you could fold up your kayak?!
Pleased with the buying process with Kayak Creek. They were responsive to my questions and kept in communication regarding shipping time.
The kayak is great. We wanted a smaller option for packing into our camper van, and this fits the bill perfectly. I really like the light weight of it, as the heavier boats become harder to move as I get older. Folding was challenging the first time, but a step-by-step video told us what to do. The more we do it, the easier it has become. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to fold and unfold by myself, but I'm okay with that. (I'm 63, and I think my younger self might have been able to.)
First time in the boat, I felt a bit unstable. It's getting better as I get used to it, even though it's only been a few times. I'm almost ready to let the dog come back in. There's plenty of room for her, but I want to feel more stable when she moves around.
The material appears to be very sturdy, and I believe it will last quite a while. The last time out, I scraped the bottom a bit on some rocks, but you'd never know it as there are no scratches or visible signs.
Overall, we are very pleased with our purchase. We are considering the smaller one for our next purchase so that we have 2 to go out on the water together.
Still waiting for the weather to warm up to take out the Flint with Pivot Drive. Great communication with the store rep, Matt. Despite a small scratch on the hull during delivery, everything was great. Definitely do business with Kayak Creek again. I was able to printout the Pivot Drive instructions. Instructions were great.
We had a positive experience with kayak Creek, they were quick to answer questions, and let us know when to expect delivery. I highly recommend them. As for the kayak, it will be a bit before we can get our toes (hopefully not much more) in the water, but it is solidly built and we are looking forward to our adventures. No regrets!
Onve in awhile, you get great servuce backed by good people, who see tmyour order through and who give it a personal touch. Matt was helpful and kind and the products and service are wonderful. I love my kayak! Thank you, Kayak Creek, for being honest and so helpful. The photo is of my boyfriend on Thermalito Afterbay in his NuCanoe.
Great company to deal with. Matt worked hard to work out the details of getting me a canoe to me while I was on the road.
He arranged for me to pick my Frontier 12 in Denver, then when the manufacturer couldn’t fulfill my paddle order, he found a paddle for me through a competitor and arranged for it to be delivered to my next destination.
Then...... when I decided to purchase a casting bar Matt again worked out the details of getting it to me while I was still traveling.
His service was definitely above and beyond what one normally gets from even companies that offer great service.
Thanks for all your hard work Matt! You helped make an incredible fishing summer!
